Map update on dnx5280bt

if anyone can help me how to update map on kenwood dnx5280bt?

It's easy got it working on my 5280BT also.

Download from the following link and choose

City Navigator® Europe NT 2012.30

3) CN EUROPE 2012.30 UNLOCKED IMG FULL 2.32GB

gmap3d.img Unlocked (427 MB)

D2504060A.JCV High Resolution Photoreal (557 MB)

When downloaded all the 3 files,
format SD card in Fat32 and create a GARMIN folder and copy the gmapsupp.img and the gmap3d.img inside this folder and create a folder JCV inside the GARMIN folder and copy the D2504060A.JCV inside this JCV folder.

Place the SD card and everything will works also the traffic!!!
One thing the SD card must always be placed!!!

i allready try with sd card..but..when i put map like adria route or scg route named gmapsupp unit see this and work,but when i put citynav 2012.3 dont see??i will try with other two files (gmap3d and jcv file)
in paste i instal more then 100 units of kenwood and never have any problem..this is first time..but is new unit 5280..there is no mini usb conector on rear side too go directly on hard drive of unit

I have the same problem, 2012.30 works right from SD card in my DNX-5280BT but I don't know how to copy maps to the internal memory

Thanks to you I managed to do update maps, but as you said sd card must be in unit. I hope that someone will find a way to transfer the map to the hard drive into the unit

I'm tried with a Data USB A-A cable with no lucky, my laptop doesn't detects any External Storage unit. Also I turned on the unit more than 2 hours, but It din't copy the maps into the internal memory.....

I hope someone could help us

I think to many people copy illegal maps, so garmin told "kenwood u must make protection or bye bye"

I´not convinced! If other users can see garmin folder on other DNXxxxx kenwood devices, why can't we see garmin folder in our dnx5280bt?
I have a "normal" USB in the car glove, not a mini USB, so i have to find (buy) a male to male extention, right? thanks

No, this trick doesn't work - read:

I found Garmin xml specyfication on my SDcard and on the end of file I found this:

Maybe when at line Volume Name="Internal" change Permissions="1" to 0 then DNX5280bt give us acces to hdd via usb or garmin menu ?

Interesting is this line "The updates that can be performed on this unit. Includes the system region update" and "Specifies the folder to which the update file needs to be copied. Does not include the FileName or Extension."

Maybe we can anything copy to hdd ?
