Map update DNX5220BT

can i ask how you upgraded and where I can get the 2012.30 map, i got the base one.

Map can be found here: City Navigator® Europe NT 2012.30

I attached a mini usb to USB cable.
Mini usb goes in to the back of the Kenwood, the other side (normal USB) goes in to my laptop.
Press navigation on your Kenwood. Let Windows install the Kenwood usb drivers.
Than choose MASS STORAGE on the Kenwood.

On your laptop you'll see a new drive, which is your Kenwood. You can now transfer files between the 2 devices.
It's slow (usb 1.1!!!) but you'll get there eventually.

Superb, all done! thanks! Also got POI uploader working with it, one thing to note I had to put it in Garmin Mode to use POI loader otherwise it screwed it up!

what is the actual size of the internal Garmin´s memory?

were you able to get there in the full img 2.3GB?

Hello from greece!! I kind of having a problem with my DNX-5240bt car unit. It's the same with DNX-5220bt with some extra features. Tried to update the maps on Garmin navi that has preinstalled. It had the garmin navigator europe nt 2009 installed. The update is possible via mini-usb connection. At first i updated the firmware in the unit to 3.20 and the navigation software to 2.80. Connected then my laptop, saw the garmin folder. Updated the base map to 5.1. I had downloaded from somewhere else a gmapsupp.img file of 2012.10 version. Copied it to garmin folder and because am i newbie i erased the original 2009 file cause i thought i didn't want it any more!! I don;t remember its name. Anyway, i downloaded from here the 2013.30 version and it is gmapsupp.img file too. Tomorrow i will copy it to garmin folder. Do i need to remane it to something else in order to work? After my first attempt for update, all i got back was a message on the unit that it couldn't read map information...

everything went good the maps are working just fine!! Looks like there was something wrong with the first gmapsupp file!!

Just wanted to let you know that everything went well this weekend!
We installed the latest base map (world wide DEM 5.01 NR) and installed the latest Europe map (CN 2012.30) with success!
