Kor@l, Can I just download 'City Navigator Europe NT UK & Rep. Of Ireland' as I will never be outside UK?
Also is it the unlocked map I need?
Finally, I currently have 'City Navigator Europe NT v9' installed on my Kenwood unit. Do I have to update City Navigator to v2012 or just the map?

Yes you can use the unlocked map, when you go to maps info can select the new map.
Try with the folder named "Map" if you don't see the new map try copy the map in Garmin folder, the same for gmap3d.img

Old map will be inside the navi and new map in sd, you just update the map in this devices don't bother about version name are all the same map EXP. V2011= 2012.20
