Say Thanks, or pin a star [if useful]
its a dealer only option..
do you have any solution for LR HDD Update?
I can to install EU maps in my US model of Discovery 4?
if its a hard drive then only the dealer can update or change the mapping ...
if i am not mistaken, even if you are told this is a dealer only option it can be done. i have a range rover currently, unfortunately not with a HDD, but my last car a VW Touareg with the RNS 510 fitted. i upgraded both the software and map versions for this unit several times. you just need to find copies of the discs, they will be out there!!
just out of interest please someone correct me if what i have said is wrong, surely something with a HDD can be upgraded if you have a disc???
good luck.
From what I can see, the maps are very similar with the usual Denso mess.
Surely must be some DVD's for upgrade, as it's not feasible to download the maps for every car.
The problem is that we don't have info about the system
btw
I didn't know this and didn't see it reported earlier, so I thought I would share. RRS (as well as LR4 and Evoque) equipped with Gen 2.1 infotainment systems fitted on MY2012 and 2013 will be able to receive navigation map updates on a USB memory stick. It will no longer be necessary to visit a dealer to get the hard drive reflashed with a specialized tool via diagnostics, as is the case for MY2010s and 11s. I assume updated map data for MY2012s and later may be purchased from Land Rover and/or Navteq, when it becomes available, in the form of a USB memory stick.
So, to recap:
- MY2006-2009 RRS = DVD updates (carried out by customer)
- MY2010-2011 RRS = Hard Drive updates (carried out by dealer)
- MY2012-2013 RRS = USB updates (carried out by customer)
