NTG2 Australia. Do I need to update prior ?

I have a C55 W203 2005 update which has the origonal Harman Becker DVD version 1 (2003) for Australia.
Nav system NTG2
VIN WDB203076xxxxxxxx

I have just purchased the 2010 update disc

Do I need to update the system prior to inserting the NTG2 2010 disc?

I know there is a Mercedes update disc available for Europe.

I can tell it's for an Australian by the spelling... However you can just insert the disc & away you go, trouble free!
