seems u're on the right path, r u able to read ur sw.unl file when selected, if u r, then u need to save the file in all files form and not text file. hope this may help.

That is what i did, i did not save it as a text, i did it like you said but when i run it it shows the screen asking to buy

I exit the program before putting the car to off, still, any poi or recent finds captured earlier will be missing the next start up to garmin navigation, newly installed garmin program action required again. Any clues?

only thing i can suggest is you might have to rewrite to script to use the exact folder/system locations the settings are saved to, instead of "scriptpath" and "systempath"

Could anyone tell me how to unlock this Garmin?
I'm using it in a 2DIN and it starts but it asks me to buy or run a trial.
I don't find the usual files such as sw.unl and others and even I can't find the ID from my device in order to try to unlock the maps.
I'd be most obliged if someone could give me some clues how to run the Garmin.

Use your Sdcard id to create the sw.unl - have the sdcard formatted by FAT32 before copying anything.
A sdcard ID will be generated when you run GarminXT for the first time.
Get this ID in setting / system /info
Open keygen - key in the sdcard ID in the first column - then generate the unlock code for Garmin XT
Open notepad or word pad -
Copy in the generated code - now when save as sw.unl
Thats all - copy this into the GarminXT folder together with other files.
Restart unit - all the asking - register or other will disappear.

here is my version from before the forum hack.

You will need to make your SW.UNL unlock file and add maps to use.
Run garmin from \garmin\RunGMXT\garmin.exe
maps goto \garmin
screen resolution is 480x272
