Thumbs up Re: Navteq 2010-2011 (VDO-BMW-Opel-Renault)

Many thanks gazo for the shares.
I tried to download the two maps with East Europe.. burned them with Magic Iso and tryed them on my VDO MS 3100... they are working... just that I am now in Germany and I don't think they will give me a rute to Romanien. :-)
... I need the actual map with Germany... by rapidshare gave me an error at the 3rd cd (maybe post a link with not so many parts to download?)... and the hotfile are useless.

    Regards.

    A few things:

    • Do not complain if you do not know what you are doing or saying!
    • There are separate uploads with linksace for every cd
    • You cannot plan a route to Rumania since the CD Major Roads does not contain any roads in this area

I am not complaining... just that you have to try a few things to obtain the final product... a working map-cd. :-)

Just for the other users... if you get, for example the map of Germany after the extract to a 716 MB dimension, this will not work to write it on the CD with the magic ISO or any other program... you don't have to overburn or use a bigger cd... you will have to do the following: 1. mount the Image using Daemon tools 2. copy (CD) the mounted Image on CD using a writing program (I used Ashampoo) 3. put the obtained Cd on your navi and enjoy.

    Cheers

Utter and complete nonsense what you are writing

The size of the image does not reliably reflect tha actual total size of the files on the cd
Moreover the CD size is always measured as 2048 bytes per sector whereas these images are mode 2/2352 byts per sector
This means that for all purposes a normal CD of 700 MB will contain 805 MB of data when written in mode 2

So if you open the image in Imgburn and insert a normal 700 MB cd you can safely write it to cd without any further measures least of all a completely unnecessary mounting-copy procedure

And then you will still have the wrong format of the cd which will show when used in most older equipment and in Philips Carin systems
