I've read bits an pieces about doing this. But, nothing seems to be real definitive.
I purchased a Generic GPS unit off ebay. I didn't realize that there were no "micro" sd wifi cards available.
I would like to get another unit with a standard SD or mini SD slot that will accept a SD wifi card and make the unit as useful as it can be. IE, stopping at a wifi hotspot on the motorcycle and checking the weather.
Anyone try this and have it work? Anyone see a good write up on how to do it? What changes to the registry or any .dll's that needed to be added?
Still seems a little wishy washy on some people being able to get it to work. Will forward the info to me computer guru for his review.
I'm debating about just going with a Android tablet with GPS and Wifi installed. But it doesn't look like the maping programs are on them, so there is a cost to that. I see there is 1 free GPS program on the Android market place.
For the price of a new GPS unit and the SDW-821 card, the Droid tablet may be the route to go.
