I have 2 cars with generic chinese GPS dvd player, I'm using Igo8 in both cars. Igo8 works perfect in windoes CE 6.0.

    Thanks for the confirmation.

I am going to try to get the Garmin files to work on WinCE6, but if I cannot get it to work I will try Igo8.

What Igo8 version have you used Primo/Navteq? My screen is 800 x 480.

With regards to WinCE6 is there a limit on the gmapsupp.img size. Should it be a under 2GB file or does it not matter?

    .
Most CE6 pna will read 8GB sdcards or even higher.

However, for garmin, it has been reported that if you combine too many countries into one gmapsupp.img file, the program performance deteriorates significantly (gps position calculation slows down alot).
You might want to just combine two countries (more for smaller countries) into one gmapsupp.img file on one sdcard.

This however is not a problem with igo primo. I have North America (Mexico, USA, Canada) and all of Western Europe and igo primo program on one 8GB sdcard with no noticable performance issues.

iGO8 / iGO Primo is also alot easier to install on any WinCE pna.

I use a 16GB SDcard to run City Navigator® Europe NT 2012.30 among other maps on my Garmin 3790T, with no noticeable loss, but then again I am no expert.

For the WinCE6 unit I will put City Navigator® Europe NT 2012.30 on a 4GB SDcard and see if it will work using the shell.rar/Garmin.rar you have kindly uploaded.

    Will update here soon. Thanks

I am not familiar with iGo8. Is it simply a matter of using a system set up like this....

IGO Primo for 800x480 Windows CE 6.0

and then add these maps etc.....

iGO 2011 Q2 R3 NAVTEQ MAPS FULL EUROPE [UNLOCKED][MAP POI DEM HNR]

    .
If on your WinCE6 pna menu, you have <Setting>,<Nav Path>, then shell.ini is not required. Just set <Nav Path> to \SDMMC\Garmin\RunGMXT\garmin.exe

I have tried the files you posted and am almost there but not quite and I am not sure why.

The unit is WinCE6. I have set the correct path <Setting>,<Nav Path> and it works.

The Garmin screen appears. I hit agree and the Nav menu appears. The problem is it only recognises your gmapbmap not my gmapsupp, so if I hit the "address" menu it asks for a more detailed map or if I hit "view map" it only show your base map.

I do not understand why as my gmapsupp is unlocked and should not even need a unl.
The only thing I can think of is that I am using the SDcard ID not the Din unit ID, as I have no idea how to get the ID from the Unit. However this should not matter as in Garmin units you can use the SDcard ID to create an activation key.

Above are my settings in case I am doing anything wrong.

    Any help appreciated.

Try this, rename your gmapsupp.img to gmapprom.img. This has happened to me before on some WinCE6 devices.

The image you uploaded appears too blur on my PC.

btw, the unit id can be obtained from <main menu>,<tools>,<settings>,<about>.

    Thanks. That worked.
I am now able to view the gmapprom map. The problem now is that if I try and do any actions I get errors.
An example is. If I go the Whereto/address and type in an address I get the error. “Error: Asset failed at CDP_Street_listField.CPP: 756 in Garmin Mobile XT with error 0”

This also applies to other actions.

Yes, but as I am using the SDcard for my ID, so in the “about” it gives the SDcard ID not the Din unit.

    Thanks for the continued help.

Not sure about that error message. Will do some research on that.

In the mean time, try deleting everything in the \garmin\rungmxt\settings folder, to prevent
the possibility of my location and equipment settings interfering with yours.

How is the satellite reception btw (no. of sat., signal strength} as shown within the garmin program.
