Thanks Hashima, I cant run the garmin_keygen application as I do not have a device ID for my maptrax. Also I assume I am using my own basemap. Does it still need to be unlocked? Is the sw.unl file holding the unlock key for the map or the application?
The device ID you can get only after garmin starts up on your device from garmin main menu, Tools/Settings/About. The sw.unl file holds the unlock for your hardware.
Here's the base map:

No Luck. I cant get either of those 5 versions to load up on my device.
I have installed the fifth package (GZ). it says toolhelp required So I copied toolhelp.dll from the fourth package (e668xp). Now it says unable to open input port.
Any suggestions??

Yes I did. I extracted the rar files, renamed the folder "Garmin" and added the basemap to the "Garmin" folder then copied to SD card. When I insert the sd card, it shows up on the device as "Storage card".
I played around with the port splitter and now when i double click garmin.exe it opens port splitter and closes it after 3 seconds. But it still wont load garmin xt.
Appears we can't go the shortcut route. I have been searching my archieves for garmin installation programs and hack tools. Its been awhile since I used them. Good news is I found them. Problem is their size. I have four versions of garmin installation. Ver 41040w, ver 42050w, ver 50010w and ver 50020w.
Righto, I Downloaded 50020.zip, ran the installer and installed to root of sd card.
Downloaded Unlock_320_240.rar, copied to root of sd card
Downloaded GSFinder.rar, copied to root of sd card
I tried running garmin mobile xt.exe and autorun.exe on device, still doesnt load.
I can run mobile navigator.exe on device from unlock_320_240 folder and all the icons are visible.
I can run GSFinder.exe on device and the file explorer opens up.
I tried to run GMXT from there but still wont load.

A little diversion here. I just recalled something about the way garmin starts up.
Try this. On a blank sdcard, copy the unlock programs to it. Then copy one of the five garmin programs(posting #9) I gave you earlier. Go through all five one at a time.
The root of the sdcard should only contain:
Garmin
Mobilenavigator
shell.ini
See if garmin will start up when you press on the garmin icon.
btw, the contents of GSFinder should be in the \MobileNavigator\Apps\GSFinder directory.
