    Question to TMC/TMCPro experts

    Hi folks.

    I have satnav device that is TMC capable but no TMCPro.
    I have a configuration file for TMC reception:

    [general]
    fsid_minimum=2
    fsid_top=7
    mgs_mask=15
    consider_compatibility=0
    search_wait_time=120
    search_wait_dist=200000
    prefer_tp_stations=T
    ti_scan_wait_period=300

    [weights]
    masked_mgs_weight=1
    weak_tp_station_weight=16
    topped_fsid_weight=32
    non_zero_sid_weight=0
    equal_weight=0
    compatible_weight=0
    strong_tp_station_weight=2048
    pay_tmc_station_weight=0

    [search_triggers]
    search_trigger_station_list=0
    search_trigger_fsid_drop=0
    search_trigger_ta_change=0

    Does the highlighted section say it is TMCPro capable but deliberately suppressed as I dind't pay for it???
    Can I activate TMCPro by increasing the value?

    You need to have the TMC receiver signal code for your local telco. Your satnav unit ID will have to be reported or registered to you local Telco. A receiver ID code will be given by telco for entry into the satnav unit to activate the receiver for GNS traffic signals. You will have to configure the proper communication port and baud rates settings . The paid signals are more in detail for road condition reports, freeway congestion, road works and accidents etc.

    If the satnav unit is unregistered. Some free general GNS signals are still available at long broken intervals. It will depends on your settings or consider tuning to the available free signals. It takes much effort for this trial and error matter.
