2007 Chevy Silverado / Denso Firmware & Maps

Hey,

I have got myself a truck over here in Europe.

Anyways I am working getting newer maps for this nav system. What was in the truck when I bought it was a burned copy of a SAAB 2004 nav dvd.

I managed to burn a 2008 SAAB nav dvd. Then tried with a Land Rover 2011-2012 nav DVD which supposedly worked for other people with SAAB's (same Denso).

This did not work for me, now I read that the Denso does not like these newer maps without a firmware upgrade. I guess my Silverado is running the old 2007 firmware.

What I am doing right now is to get the 2011 GM US & Canada DVD and hope that this will prompt me to upgrade the firmware on this Denso. This should hopefully get my Land Rover DVD working.

I will post info regarding my progress on this matter, I will not give up on this I gotta have 2011 maps on this thing.

Once I figured this out I'll post more detailed info what I had to do to get Europe maps on the GM Denso systems.

Okay here is the success story:

I burnt GM Navigation Disc 6.0c - United States & Canada - PN 20940248 and this DVD ran the software upgrade on the Dneso Nav. (Took about 10 minutes)

I was then able to use the Land Rover 2011-2012 DVD (DVD MAP 2011-2012 KENWOOD DV3200 DENSO Part No. 464210-7550 WEST EUROPE).

That's it! It was really easy!

Hey Hacker would you know where I could get the 2011-2012 disc that would work in a 2009 silverado ..... united states and canada......
