Well, this is weird, i can't find any law for this, but i know that the speedcams map provided by the government is now deleted, PSA has stopped providing speedcam database so this is not good!
I assume that PSA will make an update to remove speedcams from nav systems (RNEG, RT4/5; etc..).
hello, it is still possible to buy and install GPS radar bases PSA, the law is not yet in force (end of year 2011 not before), so all the manufacturers will have to conform, which means new firmware and mapping for the end of 2011.
PSA is not allowed to provide the speedcam data for france. This doesn't have to mean the functionality is removed alltogether from the navigation systems. They already did not provide data for Switzerland and Germany (as it is already "illegal"over there). By not providing data for france, they comply to the french law.
Of course having this functionality won't be a priority anymore as the home market can't use it.
it will not disclose the exact location of radar sites on the Internet, the law changes to become instead Radar = risk areas, so there will be the end of roads / highways with possible radar at the inside, the exact location of the radars is prohibited on gps, only zones 3 to 4 km will be able to warn the driver of an area at risk or danger (legal in France) and this for the end of 2011, the manufacturers of GPS to French standards.
