    Re: New SpeedCam RT4-RT5 (July)

    Hi,

I have an RT4 with vers 8.11, and am a newbie to this kit. As there are currently no speedcams installed, do I firstly need some sort of 'base' database before I can use the file mentioned in this thread to 'upgrade' it or can I just use this file on its own and it will install all the speedcams.

Sorry if this is a basic question, but we all have to start somewhere...thanks.

P.S. think the forum is great, I have learned a lot just reading some of the posts.

INFORMATION FROM THE PEUGEOT DOWNLOAD SITE:

    When the RT5_ZAR_AAAA-MM-JJ.exe file
    has been downloaded:
    1. Click on «Execute» or «Open»:
    A «Self-extracting Archive» window appears on your
    computer’s screen.
2 . Click on the button to the right of «Extract
to» to select the location for the copied data.
    3. Click on « Start ».
The data is copied to the selected location.

Select a compatible data medium :

For vehicles equipped with a USB port as standard,
you can choose to either copy the data onto either
a USB key or write it to a CD
For other vehicles, you have to write
    the data to a CD.
Insert the selected data medium into your computer.

    Copying procedure

It is essential that the following files :
    MAPPE (with its sub-folders)
    UPG
    POI_VER.POI
are copied to the root of the USB key
(vehicles equipped with a USB port as standard)
    or
are written to the root of the CD (all vehicles).

    2. Copy onto the data medium

Disconnect and remove the data medium from
    your computer

    3. Installation on the navigation system

Insert the data medium into the navigation system.
    The navigation system automatically
    detects the inserted medium.
Confirm the launch of the update by clicking «Yes».
    The system is updated automatically.
When the update has finished, a message informs you
that the safety camera locations have been added to the
European mapping on the navigation system’s hard disc.
Eject the data medium from the navigation system.
    4. Configuring the navigation system

To display the risk areas on the screen:

    Press the menu button:
    Select the Map icon
    Select «Map details»
    Select «Transports and automobile»
    Check the «Risk areas» section
    Confirm by clicking OK

To configure the audible and visual alerts when
    approaching safety cameras

Press the navigation system’s menu button.
    Select:
    Navigation/guidance
    Guidance options
    Set parameters for risk areas
You can select the following alerts when approaching
    safety cameras:
    visual
audible with an announcement period that
can be adjusted from 15 to 45 seconds
during navigation only, ie: with navigation to
    a destination activated.

    Alert during navigation:

During navigation (navigation to a destination activated),
the system is capable of selecting only the safety
cameras that are on your route.

You are informed of the speed limits.
If the speed limit is exceeded, the circle around the
speed limit sign flashes in red.

Alert when navigation is not active:

When navigation is not active (no destination), the
navigation system warns you of the presence of safety
cameras that are close to the vehicle.
No speed limit information is given.

    Hope this helps

Don't you think it's stupid to ask software for a RT4 in a RNEG suject?
