thx gazo for answer
Installing new maps onto you hdd requires:
With these 2 unique code you can apply for an installation password at Pioneer web site
- Product code found on the DVD package
- Equipment code found in you navigation unit
A DVD code once used is rendered obsolete by the system
There is no keygenerator or similar that can generate a password and effectively this means that only an original dvd can be used to obtain a password
You are having bad luck

The US units are unsuitable for use outside the US
There is no possibility to change firmware of system software

Works againSorry...
i use imageburn with a verbatim dl+r 8x and bun it at 4x. but the avic-x1 says: reading error. i tried a second vermatim disc at 4x but reading error again. Then i use a intenso 2.4 disc and the avic appears the message reading error again.
All disc was verified with imageburn. i dont know what type of media to use any more. may be verbatim 2.4 speed work, but i can't find 2.4x speed in the market. only 8x verbatim. i also replace a few months ago the laser unit, so avic works fine.
anyone have the same problem with the cndv-100mt east, or just me ?
What you did not tell us what brand/type of DVD writer you used.
4 out of 5 will never succesfully burn a navigation DVD
