TomTom Carminat Europe SD Renault Scenic

My 2 cents ( and 1 hour of thinking / tries ) :

To make a TomTom Carminat Card from scratch ( someone was stoled / loosed / damaged - i just don't know - from Megane III ) you need to download navcore from http://download.tomtom.com/sweet/nav...nat_TomTom.cab , extract IA0000700006swlimage0.zip and IA0000700006swlimage1.zip from DS_1 subfolder inside CAB file on root of 4MB memory card ( SDHC work well ) , patch PNDnavigator with tools from http://gpsunderground.com/forum/tomt...rd-winner.html or Kor@l-s ( if understand spanish ) , rename ~tsystem to ttsystem and put maps ( 860.3123 ) - make ttgo.bif file and put in root of SD card . Start TTHome and under HELP -> System Information take a unique number for your SD card. In ttgo.bif fill lines

DeviceUniqueID=your device id with space in middle

Info is from TTHome.
Now uou can use Easyusetools to make dct file for inserted map(s) ...
All other is just easy ...

You sir are a trye gentleman... I now have the full use of the carminat in my hire car for the week... I now laugh in the face of avis who said I can not use the satnav...

I am very new to tomtom gps (I only have till now igo one yto play with).

My compagny just rent me for a few month a Renault Clio with carminat Tomtom but with not SDCARD.

I just download a copy of a sdcard but as yoiu can image map is not accepted

I would like to apply your solution but I am not shure to clearly understand the manipulation.

I download navcore and put it in on a clean sdcard and i am stuck there

I do not understand what "patch PNDNavigator" means because on my sdcard copy (download from internet) ttsystem and no executable are in, only maps and other stuff (application seems to be loacted in tom tom incar device).

Does it means that I have to prepare a kind of bootable sdcard (with everything on it) that supercede incar application ?

I sse many solution on the web but all of these need deviceID but (as my SDCARD copy is not the one from the car ) I do not know how to get it on the incar system (no touchscreen and a remote only available)

Still stuck with a message saying i cannot use the map but working on it :-)

I successfully make it work on carminate tomtom clio III.

It is slightly different from the method presented above :

Copy A0000700006swlimage0.zip and IA0000700006swlimage1.zip as indicated

Copy sounds ans voices directory (You have to use a complète SDCARD image to also have voice and sounds or download it from tomtom Home)

put a blank FAT32 formated sdcard into incar Tomtom sdcar slot, boot GPS by switching on radio unit (no need to start engine). Wit a while until you'll see no map available. switch off GPS. remove SDCARD

On computer backup loopdir directory located on sdcard.

Copy this directory on the SDcard root containing stuffextracted from navcore archive **.zip

Launch Tomtom Home and get system info : Copy information to ttgo.bif (put this file on sdcard).

rename ~tsystem to ttsystem

Apply ea5_v0-57-21 as explained (using ttgo.bif, meta.txt and map from link above).

ea5_v0-57-21 does not touch PNDnavigator but ttsystem instead

Note : I use France 161 with metadata associated:
Carte Tomtom France V 850.2781(401 MB) IQ Route GPS

Now you can update speedcam using Tomtom home

Use it if you lost or damage original sdcard or if you get a rent car without sdcard. This is exactly what you get (what you pay for) officially with the car. it is a trick rather than a hack or a crack and it does not damage anything on incar device.

Thanks Jaarvin, One clarification needed. All the files from the navcore archive need to be copied to the loopdir directory and not SD root?? Would appreciate if you could give a directory/file tree listing of the SD card!

Hello everyone.

I have a problem.
Live TomTom NavCore a series of Renault 9.844.
No ttsystem file and PND file navigator.
There is a ttsystem.ib file.
The file is deleted after installation and no longer be found.

Does anyone know how to patch it.
