Hello everyone, I just had a renault with the R-Link system TomTom Live 11-311, and I have a TomTom France map v905-v4783.
Is it possible to change the map?
Fastactivate does not.
thank you for your help.
Yes - i'm in same situation - no way to update MAP-s without to buy it from TomTom - the navcore inside the car check things stored / written on SDCARD memory and will refuse to accept patched / unsigned new data ... no maps, no navcores are possible to change / or downgrade... there i was hear that some earlier 10.xxx navcores was, but ...
However, I am convinved that it should be possible with R-Link.
All required files are on the SD-card and when updating, Tomtom creates a .DCT file using the same method as in older navcore; i.e. using the map.meta and meta.txt. The issue is that the DeviceUniqueID is made of 12 characters (letter or digits) and unfortunately, known activating apps are looking for a DeviceUniqueID with 10 characters.
If someone knows how to create the map.meta.dct file?
The difference is that the full map folder is on the SD, while on other V11+ navcore Tomtom devices (e.g. start 20 or Go 91xx series), the map folder is on the device memory, thus not reachable (not visible). Thus, the situation is not the same.
Thanks to the Rlink-Explorer, the full structure is visible and the map folder shows the same files than in a V8 or v9 navcore. And the files can be copy paste. The only think would be to recreate a map---.dct file as for a v9 navcore and paste it to the SD map subfolder. Unfortunately, I do not know how to create it.
