I've just got a new Android phone and have started to use Sygic Aura. It seems to fit my needs pretty well but there is one aspect I just can't get my head around and it's beginning to irritate me now.
I have set my map to not display any POIs and when I browse the map there are indeed no POIs displayed but, whenever I am within 500m of a POI I get a pop-up symbol informing me of it. While driving along this gets pretty annoying as there are so many POIs that you drive past there is pretty much a POI being indicated all the time and I'm not interested in 99% of them.
Below is a screenshot of what I mean. I am needlessly being told that there is a car repair place somewhere within 500m of my house.
I have tried toggling every setting I can find but I just can't seem to stop these notifications appearing. Can anybody point me in the right direction?
That's the setting I thought would do it but it seems it is only turning off their physical display on the map - i.e. when I drive, they don't show on the map but I get a pop-up informing me that I'm somewhere near a POI even though the POI isn't actually shown on the map.
Frankly I don't know what's the problem.
It never happens on my installation so far.
The voice or pop up only happens to saved pois and not the normal pois.
Perhaps you reinstall again to confirm whether it happens again anew.
If so means there is a bug in android.

Finally found it. It seems there are two options for dealing with POIs - showing them on the map and also notifications but the notifications are only available to change when you have sound enabled. As it was I had sound disabled which in turn disables the notification options. Within the options there are then settings for visible and audible notifications. Seems odd that the whole thing gets disabled when you have sound turned off when there are visibility options in there too.
