Thanks for a nice guide how to activate Traffic/TMC.
I have followed all instructions and I only have problem with connecting to my GNS TMC BT receiver and/or external Qstarz BT GPS.
I'm running Android 2.1 and the auto-detection does not work (it finds internal GPS only). When I try to setup the connection manually, there is no list of available (paired) bluetooth devices and the COM PORT setting has two options (1) android (connects to internal GPS) and (2) user defined - here you are asked to put a name of COM port.
Could anyone help with connecting to external GPS/TMC receiver on Android device (HTC Hero)?
Most TMC devices operated on Com1.
Check the operating baud rate of your BT receiver.
Assigned TMC port and baud rate to phone by asssign setting.
Turn on BT and TMC receiver. Paired them.
After pairing - turn on software and proceed to TMC settings.
Key in the receiver code to activate the receiver.
Get the signal codes for your country and specify them in your mlm file.
Recreate license text and save.
Test for Signals during navigating.
Ensure that your TMC receiver and GPS does not share the same com port.

Yes, I know what you're trying to describe. BUT what are the names of the COM port being used by my paired BT devices (ext GPS receiver, ext TMC receiver)?
"COM1"? "COM,1"? "COM-1"?
"COM2"? "COM,2"? "COM-2"?
I have been trying to put all possible alternatives, but the result is still BIG NOTHING. I am afraid that the Sygic Drive can work only with devices listed in the relevant menu, which means, in my case, internal GPS only (the COM port named "android")... :-\
1. mlm file is ok (TMC=yes)
2. licence done
3. TMC files in place
I think that the "COM port assignment" should be done by Android system (after pairing the device) and Sygic Drive should simple list available devices in the manual config screen... but something in this procedure is obviously not happening
If your sygic TMC or traffic icon is not grey means that you have configured correctly.
Just click and go for autodetect com port and baud.
If grey - then your setup is wrong. Hardware problem.
Can't explain much on that - no set to test.
Maybe you can try this
