I have recently bought a boxed new and faulty (?) go940 which neither Vista nor Windows 7 can reconised ( 'unkown device error ' ).
Tried everything from hard reset to change usb ports, disable USB ports, update drivers, use a spare USB lead..you name it.
Anyone ever had a similar problem.
Would a phone call to Tomtom CS be of any help ?
Looks like the internal memory is defective.
Can you test with a micro SD card? If that works, it definitely is the memory. If that does not work either, it is something else.
Either way, it looks like you are entitled to a warranty exchange.
called Tomtom this morning and they issued me a number to show to the retailer authorising an exchange.
Tomtom definely accets the device is faulty.
