Newest NA maps don't have ALG anymore?

So I looked at the chart here: And used the list of download links: .

It seems only the 850.2784 in the North America section supports ALG, but doesn't work with the 8.531 Navcore which is what I have. I hope I'm reading the charts right. How come there's no longer ALG support?

Sorry if this was a stupid question.

ALG is still being offered on as many model numbers as ever before. Remember
that allot of the newer releases, are for many different devices. TomTom [marketing]
is simply spreading out the various price points and the varied features that come standard
with each. Not all the map updates have even been released yet. Even when they
do, don't expect many changes. If you've got a build less than 2-3 years old....you're good.
Releasing new maps every six months is also nothing more than a marketing plan. They want you
to believe, you've got a mapping system that's out of date, and you'll be screwed unless you
pay them $xxx's. This is simply not true. Don't buy into the forum frenzy that new maps are
    needed. They are not.
