    Newbie needs help please :)

    Hi all,

I had my TT working perfectly until I updated something through TTHome. The file was about 30mb and all of a sudden my maps do not work. I have deleted all my maps and want to start from scratch.

I have spent a few days looking through here, downloading new maps, trying to use EasyTools, Easyactivator etc etc etc but nothing seems to work. Can someone please give me a step by step guide to updating my TomTom XL IQ Routes device with the newest Australian maps including Navcore meta etc. From the very first step to the very last step. Since I have no working maps on my device I cannot find out what Navcore I have and there is no backup available either

    this would be much appreciated.

    Shaunym

First connect your TT to a PC, open with explorer, scroll down the files and open "ttgo" with notepad. This will give you a detailed list, such as: Navcore, Boot loader, Device number, etc.
When you get this, come back with it, it will help us to help you.

Do you still have the maps that you deleted somewhere on your PC? If you put them back and patch your navcore I reckon she''ll be apples.
What happened is that you updated the "Tomtom Application", which is TTHome speak for the Navcore. The navcore that you had, was patched and so are your maps. The new navcore from Tomtom is not patched.
So when you patch the newly received navcore, it should work again with your maps. Youse yDGpatch or Easyusetools to do the trick.

Of course, nothing stops you from obtaining newer maps too and patching them with these same tools.

Once you have patched your downloaded official navcore, copy your downloaded map folder onto your TT and create a map key with a keygen

Thanks for all the help people... I used Albert's Easy Activator and it all looked good. However I get the red screen saying the map cannot be used on this device. Perhaps I need to update my Navcore? How would I do so and which one would I want for Australian map 8.45.2662?

That red screen means you need to use a keygen to creat the map .dct file. Read the tutorial section for a full explaination
