Alternatively, create a POI category for your personal favourites. The format of the mapettings.cfg file (stored in the map folder) has been known to change when a new map series has been released - causing strife if a previous (incompatible) mapsettings.cfg file is copied into the new map folder. POI files are easily backed up using Windows Explorer and copied into any new map - you may also wish to copy-and-paste the relevant icons (.bmp files). The mapsettings.cfg file stores Home location, Recent destinations and possibly other data (TT Home location when using 'Operate my Go'?) as well as Favorites.
