HTC HD2, TomTom Home "invalid version"

I have TomTom Navigator 7.916.9189 on my HTC HD2, and as a GPS device it works fine - my account uses the traffic and speed camera database without issue.

However whenever I fire up TomTom Home (2.7.6.2056) I get a message telling me I have an "invalid version"

Also, TomTom Home somehow has my account linked to a device serial number that is exactly the same as my device number, but with a "T" in front of it. I have contacted TomTom about this problem and they have apparently unlocked my account, but the Home software is still not allowing me to link my device to my account.

More detail on the error is below, but how do I fix this problem?

ERROR: 573/# Error from server: You have an invalid version of the TomTom application installed on your TomTom device. To use HOME you need to install the correct version of the TomTom application.

Re: HTC HD2, TomTom Home "invalid version"

I'm indebted to R12SRW on the XDA developers forum for the solution...which was very simple.

Install application to main memory, leave maps and any other large files on smart card. Problem solved (I had the main app on the smartcard too, apparently Home doesn't like that).
