I currently have 880.3810 maps on my tt, but noticed I can run 3812 version. Is the only difference the HNR and if so, er, what is it! I read that it is House Number Recognition - but how does that differ from putting the house number in the search box?
And secondly - how do I give thanks on here please?
Although the coverage is the same, whether you use Western Europe or UK and ROI, there is a small advantage of just having the smaller map. If you have both maps on your device, it will run slower than if you have just the one map. However everytime the unit boots up, it checks all the maps for validity and correct files. If you only have the smaller UK map, this process is speeded up. More noticable with slower units, but still is faster with the better units too.
I have a 32GB card with all the GO Maps on it, but on the unit itself, just UK. With no card in, it boots up fully a LOT quicker than if I have the card in place. Also with more maps, you run the risk of one file being corrupted which will stop the unit booting and it will just cycle on and off.
