I am new. If I am in the wrong forum please move me . I tried to update my old Tom Tom One v.3 to the latest maps and made a mess. All it tells me now is it has no maps.I did not know your could back up these things. I have a buddy who did his but I am not as smart as he is. Is there an "idiot newbie section" someone can link me to that will help me with this? I need a print out and a program by program and a link to download them. Three college degrees and I cannot do this kind of stuff. I really need to get my GPS back up and running. Please email me if that is acceptable so I can get started. Sorry if I am breaking another rule.
Thanks to all:

Don't fear if you make a mess without a backup. While having a backup of a known working configuration is preferred it not mandatory.
If it all gets too jumbled up just format it with windows Using FAT32...connect it to a computer with HOME installed and Reload the navcore using that until Home says there are no more updates, then follow the rest of the procedure using the link Lemonfish has posted here
