    Thank you!
    You can use w/a TTOne v3 any maps as long it has a meta and you have the right Navcore. I have have one for 5 years and works fine w/all maps updated.

    Re: You cannot use this map...

    I got Eastern_Europe_885.4009 map activated using FastActivate on my TTStart and it works well.
    I had also United_States_885_4092 and it worked well too.
    Im using FastActivate 13.02.2013.

    Now i downloaded Europe_West_900_4608 from here :
    http://gpsunderground.com/forum/tomt...ions-only.html
    I had to delete poi.dat from this map due to lack of free space.

    When i tried activate it, only Eastern_Europe_885.4009 was found.
    I had to rename Europe_West-670.meta to Europe_1GB_West-670.meta (according to info in integrated_meta.txt)
    After that, FastActivate recognized the map and created dct file.
    But when i try to switch the this map, error msg says: problem with map. you cannot use this map on this device.

    plz help

    My device info :

    TTGO.BIF:
    DeviceName=TomTom START
    DeviceVersionHW=START
    BootLoaderVersion=55274
    ApplicationVersionVersionNumber=9057
    ApplicationVersion=562242.2
    CurrentMap=Central_and_Eastern_Europe
    CurrentMapVersion=870.3406

    It appears you are getting the error because you have downloaded the wrong map and tried to activate it by renaming a file. If that is the case, then delete the map folder.

    The map you need is the Europe_1GB_West_900_4608 map:
    http://gpsunderground.com/forum/tomt...inks-only.html

    The Europe_West_900_4608 map is a different, larger map which does not have meta available yet, so you can't activate this map.

    Re: You cannot use this map...

    I'm having a very similar problem to this...
    I have a TT One v3 running Truck on 8.398 navcore, my mate bought identical model to mine so i made an exact copy of my SD card and tried to activate it on his device, this will not work, i have tried everything, clear flash, formatting numerous times, hard reset, soft reset, hitting it with a hammer (joking) and nothing works, however, after activating the map for HIS device, i find it works on my device without me re-activating it!

    Any ideas? i've been puliing out what little hair i have left all night :-)

    Thanks in advance

    Just one thing, when i run fast activate on his device, it seems to take longer than it does on mine and everytime i plug his into usb, pc asks me to check for errors etc, if this helps at all

    Thanks again

    Your bif file must have been on his device when you activated it!

    Thing is, if i format the card and write everything to it from a backup and then activate it, surely it should work on his device? i have tried deleting the bif file and doesn't seem to make any difference :-/

    I've just noticed, looking at his bif file, it's showing up as a v4 not a v3, would this cause any issues? outwardly both our devices are the same, same box, same shape etc

    Re: You cannot use this map...

    The ttgo.bif file contains the device ID which is unique to each device. Therefore you cannot activate one device and copy across the complete contents to another device, even if it is exactly the same model. It will not work this way. You must activate each device with its own ttgo.bif file.

    Reboot your device and it will create your ttgo.bif file for you, even if you haven't activated the map yet, as long as the navcore is on the device.

    Then delete all .dct files before activating your map using FastActivate. Don't forget to patch your navcore, if you haven't already done so.
