Tom Tom not recognised as external Drive on PC

    Hello Everyone,

I have recently bought a new Tom Tom Start 25 which connects via Tom Tom Home to my Windows XP PC via USB port.

However when I click on " My computer" it is not recognised as an external hard drive so I cannot access the programs sat on the tom tom device and update the maps. Previously using a generic F&H device I was able to update the maps etc but I do not how I can do that in future if the computer will not recognise the device in the tradirional manner.

Anyone else face this problem, and able to explain a solution in a non techy fashion, cannot exactly contact Tom Tom regarding this

    Many thanks in advance

Start 25 does NOT use "TomTom HOME". It uses "MyTomTom" software. You cannot view it as a drive and you cannot update maps for free.
