I took a look at this new Quick Fix GPS and yes it has to look for the ephem file to be patched. I had an older version of a GPS Fix which is easier to use but cannot find it usually TOMTOM home does update
I have a Go300 using patched navcore 9.051 and map UK895.4438. Is there any updates that I can safely install to improve the GPS signal as advertised by TT?
as a matter of fact - ability to use option Quick Fix GPS is not only TTHome malfunction - first of all, it's ability of particular GPS chip to collaborate with data from Ehpemeris folder.
I am sure - you device has chip similar to CirfTech-2, which don't supports ephemeris...
To check it up - download file from attach, unrar it and follow instruction. Please share these data to us. Pay attention to string gpsephemeris : - deppending on navcore installed it can exist with values "0" or no sring at all - which means "ephemeris not supported" (as I see it in parameters of my Go700 device - GpsFix won't affect speed of finding satellits), or with value "1" - which means " ephemeris supprorted" (I see it in my Go720 - really uses ephemeris)
