    Need maps for GO 700

Seems like i cannot create a new thread, but i have an old TomTom GO 700 and i cannot seem to find the corresponding latest map for Western & Central Europe + latest map for Australia

I have checked the links forum but it does not really mention what versions are supported by which model, so i find it a little confusing.

If anyone can help me where i could find the latest maps for the TomTom GO 700 for Australia, that would be awesome...

Re: Need maps for GO 700

    First start here:

TUTORIAL: Clean Install - How to install the latest map and navcore from scratch!

The tutorial gives you step by step instructions. The maps you are after would be for your official 7.903 navcore, therefore they are the basic maps without IQ/ALG. Here is the map thread link for the Australia 900.4600 map:

    http://gpsunderground.com/forum/tomt...inks-only.html

The Western and Central Europe map is just over 2.4GB, so it may just fit in your device. Here is the link below:

    http://gpsunderground.com/forum/tomt...inks-only.html

Better would be to use a smaller Europe map, covering the area you really need. Look in the Map Thread Finder below for the various Europe maps and sizes:

    http://gpsunderground.com/forum/tomt...v900-maps.html

VERY IMPORTANT: Make sure the map you are selecting does not say "no meta yet." If there is no meta for a particular map, then it cannot be activated, so do not download it for the moment.

Another post with download links where you can get the above maps can be found below:

Re: Need maps for GO 700

    Hi

Great forum..just joined. apparently i cannot start a new thread not sure why..

My problem is this. I have my trusty old Tomtom GO700. I have followed the tutorial posted above. Im using the backup provided by "willy647" which i believe runs navcore 9.051.. I'm trying to find the followng map with no luck: Western_Europe_900_4602. Is there a working link with correct meta data here on the forums?? The "Western and Central Europe 900-4602" map will not fit on my device not sure why..i think its a 2.3GB device and exchanging the hard drive seems troublesome..

TIA for your help and guidance. cheers

You haven't followed the tutorial properly. You have missed the most important note which I mentioned above (as well as in the tutorial) which is:

    http://gpsunderground.com/forum/tomt...v900-maps.html

VERY IMPORTANT: Make sure the map you are selecting does not say "no meta yet." If there is no meta for a particular map, then it cannot be activated, so do not download it for the moment.

There is no meta yet for the Western and Central Europe 900-4602 map, so why are you trying to install this map?

The Europe_West_900_4602 map is not the same map. It has similar coverage, but the size is smaller (1340.4MB). THAT'S the map you should be installing.

Alternatively, you can download the Western_Europe_900_4613 map, which is 1644.5MB in size.

You need a v9 navcore for the above maps. You may need to keep testing various navcores until you find one that works for your particular device. Skip steps 4 & 5 from the above clean install tutorial and instead copy across the navcore into your device, then continue with the rest of the tutorial.
