Are individual-country maps more detailed than multi-country packs?
eg. is it better to have iberia, france, benelux, italy and germany _than_ europe_south ?
ah! I was wondering the same thing. Great.
The 1GB versions of these multi country packs do differ. I read somewhere that the level of detail in rivers and zip codes is lower in those maps.
I was also told the opposite, and form that info my question. I suppose that the difference could be that multi-country maps are more compressed to save space.
Still would like to read the opinion of some more people
I was told by lemonfish today that I should fit the largest map that fits on my device as 'smaller size maps may have reduced coverage or detail'....
Therefore, only compare apples with apples, i.e. maps with similar coverage, not multimaps Vs zoned maps. For example:
Europe_910_4892 (2.5GB) Vs Western_Europe_910_4973 (1.85GB) - of course the Europe map can't possibly have better coverage, even though it is larger, as it also covers Eastern Europe and other areas not covered by Western Europe.
TomTom Tutorials & FAQ
TomTom GO 730, Navcore 9.051c, 64Mb RAM, Australia 910.4892, Bootloader: 5.5250
TomTom ONE v1, Navcore 9.170SE, 32Mb RAM, Australia 910.4892, Bootloader: 5.5244
Then Europe_South_910_4892 (1.49GB) is better than Southern_Europe_910_4892 (1.05GB)
But what if you are going to travel around the Iberian peninsula with a 2GB memory ? would you install just Iberia_910_4892 (300.67MB) ?
