    Hi!

No, it will not, I have been in extensive contact with TomTom and they say the SIM card will not work in Europe and cannot be exchanged...

Unit is probably locked to only use the GSM provider (AT&T more than likely). Unless the unit is unlocked to support other SIMs...

Question Re: Tomtom Live bought in the USA will work in Europe ?

    Greetings from Brazil!

I have bought my TT GO 740 LIVE via amazon.uk.

I have observed now here in Belo Horizonte-MG in Brazil that when I click on "Status&Information"/"Version Information"/"Network" I got a window saying:

    "TomTom Live Connection status

    Status:
    Connected

    MMC/MNC: 99999
    SIM ID: 999...999
    IMEI: 999.999
    Model: 00.01.04"

The strength of the signal oscilates from 3 to 4 (in 5 as total).

Will my "British" TT GO 740 LIVE work here with LIVE Services when available?

    Regards,

    Felipe

    Wow...

I didn't even know that my GO740 Live from USA had a SimCard... hahahaha.

Now that Carioca said, I went to my GO to test, and it really say it has an IMEI.

I also use it in Brazil (São Paulo) but mine never got a connection, it states:

    Stablishing Conection:

    MCC/MNC: xxxxx
    SIM ID: xxxxxxxxxxxxx
    IMEI: xxxxxxxxxxxxx
    Model: 00.01.04

My signal bars are always with only 2 bars (from 5).

    Thank you gema.

Mine is "British" and get a connection but no service.

But the RDS TMC receiver for my TT 740 does still not work here in Belo Horizonte (MG).

    Carioca,

Have you bought an extra RDS-TMC receiver??? Did you buy the cradle for "GOXXX" with integrated RDS-TMC receiver, or the simple RDS-TMC integrated with the car charger?

Unhappy Re: Tomtom Live bought in the USA will work in Europe ?

I have bought the TomTom GO 740 Active Dock Traffic, cheapest price for us in Brazil via amazon.de.

Though neither Indica nor Mio nor Whatever seems to be transmiting data traffic in Belo Horizonte (MG). In Brazil they seem to be alive only in Rio de Janeiro and São Paulo.
