putting north america maps on tomtom go530 help needed

    Hi all,
I am trying to put North america maps (NA_2GB_855_2884) on my tomtom go530 which has united kingdom maps already built in.
    Here is my tomtom info:
    navcore 8.396
    devise id ak9sq bsat6
And i believe there is 1 gb memory on the tomtom.

I have tried alberts activator but when i put the memory card in it just keeps loading up,turning off and loading up again.
I have tried other methods posted using easyusetools but to no avail.
I am somewhat unsure if i can put the maps on an sd to use in my devise, but i do know the maps wont fit onto the devise as it is to big.

Could anyone shed any information on this for me or the best way to go around putting the mas on the card.

    Many thanks

Using a card reader copy the map folder to the SD card (the card will now have one folder, the map).

Still only using the card reader, run Albert Easy Activator, select v8, add your device id type it in. Browse to the map folder and select it. Run AEActivator to make the dct file. Remove the card and reader and plug in your Tomtom and 'patch' the Tomtom.

Plug in your SD card to the Tomtom and you should now be able to select and run your new map.
