Two days lost signal.I formated tomtom go 930 and reloaded saved original copy and still no signal at all.Can not find bootloader 5.5120 to try to reinstall. Now TomTom is not picking up any GPS signal at all. What could be the issue? Any help would be greatly appreciated

    Just for the record,

The bootloader can NOT be erased/removed even by reformating the device.

Try this....Update the the TT using HOME then....Take the TT outside under the open sky....then do a "pin reset" using the opening on the bottom of the TT.

Then leave the TT outside for a while and see if it finds the signal.

Is the "ephem" folder in the root directory? If so are the GPSQuickfix files in it? I had a similar problem with a Go 920. Keeping the Quickfix files current really speeded up acquisition times.

Once you flash a Bootloader to your TT it is there to stay.

There is a program that will downgrade a bootloader..it should only be used in extreme cases.

At times when a new version of Navcore is released it " sometimes " contains a updated bootloader.

That is a real danger when experimenting with Navcore versions NOT intended for a particular TT....it may contain a bootloader that will not work with your TT.

There is no means to program the bootloader....you have a bootloader and that's that !

I'm using the bootloader 5.5229 on my 930 without any problems....it's NOT the offical bootloader for a 930.

Experimenting with the bootloader is very risky and could render your TT useless!

I'm not an expert but I don't think the bootloader is related to your troubles, Are you sure your not missing something, Date and time correct on the device, left outside with a clear view to the south sky (If your in the northern hemisphere), no other electrical devices near (iphone, GSM tower). leave for 30 minutes. I have worked on a few hundred tomtoms and never gone from working GPS to non working.

When you start your TT what exactly does it do? Does it get past the start-up screen to the map? If yes then unlikely you have a bootloader problem. If no did you run Clear Flash after reloading your system? Also, what do you currently have installed on your device (navcore, bootloader, type and version of map)?
