Is it possible to have the TomTom files placed on "/sdcard/external_sd/...." - My android device do not have free memory enough to have it installed on the standard position "/sdcard/..." ?
I have tried to change the setting in the metadata.sys file from: "location="file://mnt/sdcard/tomtom/com.tomtom.europe"/>" to: "location="file://mnt/sdcard/external_sd/tomtom/com.tomtom.europe"/>" with no luck, TomTom says that there is an error with com.tomtom.europe, when i try to start it !
The TomTom version i try with is 1.1 Europe for Android
Before installing new apk, you have to uninstall Tomtom app. If not, you have to make a CLEAN DATA with SETTINGS\APPLICATIONS\APPLICATION MANAGER.
Verify the path to the root of your SD card (if may be different depending your phone model).
If there’s no file « <root sdcard>/tomtom/com.tomtom.europe/.metadata.xml » when launching TOMTOM application, an error is reported (error connecting to TOMTOM).
This file is a hidden file.
Make sure this file already exist on your phone (sometimes, it may be deleted by the Application when startup problems occur).
Open ".metadata.xml" and modify path of the SD Card root if necessary.
Example of file content:
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>
