Some years ago I created some sound files for my own use in the UK to work with the SCDB.
I got the TomTom to say things like "Speed camera ahead 30 miles per hour".
I've adapted them for use on the Android with the World Speed Camera Database.
They are in English but it is easy to replace the sound files with anything you like, using your own language and adding MPH or KPH.
Tested on TomTom 1.1, 1.3 & 1.4.
I do not expect them to work in the GO App.
Tested on Android Froyo to Lollipop.
As I prefer the extra information that the 38 camera database gives I have used that.
When you approach a camera :-
An alert is sounded.
A picture of a camera appears in the top left hand corner of the screen with the distance to the camera.
The speed limit appears on the road at the camera location.
As I've not found another upload with sound files with spoken words, sound files that work with the universal app or an installation procedure that doesn't cause most people to lose
all their settings I've uploaded mine for anyone who would like a copy.
Thanks TT12 tried all you suggested and no go, don't think I'm meant to have safetycams on my tablet
May be worth another go.
I forgot to suggest something that might be worth trying.
I've never rooted any of my android devices to see for myself but it's obvious from comments I've read that information is retained in the protected area even after uninstalling an app.
Try going into the "Applications Manager" and clearing the data before trying again or uninstalling the TomTom app.
There must even be an app cleaner out there that will help.
G'day TT12, solved the problem, I installed a 930.5611 map with cams in it already did a demo route and had no sounds, copied all of your files to the directory did another demo route and had sounds and your cameras, don't know how or why but what the hell !?!
