Help with GPS (wince 5) "china" with Tomtom

    Good!
I thank you for your attention!
Would I could help in the following:
I have a friend who has a GPS (wince 5) "China" but the time is wrong!
Whenever you connect the gps or reenicia appears with the hours of hong kong!
I tried going through the change with wince, change the settings but every time I turn or reset are the same time (hong kong)!
When I turn on is the corret time but when I open tomtom and find the satellites will get hours hong kong!!
If I can help, I thank you!

Isn't it that China and Hong Kong are in the same time zone, time in both areas is identical?

Hi there, I had exactly the same problem with my CE 5.0 unit and i solved it as follows:-

    1. Remove any memory card containing TomTom or bypass TomTom
    2. Activate the default GPS software on the Chinese unit (Usually IGO8 built in or Redirect GPS default software on included memory card to IGO8/3rd party instead of TomTom on startup)
    3. Go into the settings on IGO8/3rd party GPS software and change time zone to your time zone (it will be defaulted to Hong Kong time zone). save and exit
    4. restart TomTom and the time should 'hold'

Make sure the time zone is adjusted in the GPS software not the unit settings

Hope this helps, it sorted out my chinese GPS unit a treat!!
