Re: HTC HD Mini (WMo 6.5.3) and Tom Tom Advanced Lane Guidance

Could I ask how you got TomTom working on the HD mini

I have a legal purchased copy of Navigator v7 as supplied by TomTom on a 4GB micro SD card. I copied the contents to the memory card in the phone (16GB hence not wanting to use the TomTom one) but I can't get it to run.

I know the HD mini is not supported officially but many have got this to work on their phone. I've downloaded a couple of cab files and not can get Navigator to run but I can't activate the supplied map.

TomTom support will not help me and I've even tried to crack my legal map to get it to activate.

    Would appreciate your help.

1, There is no "Advanced Lane Guidance" available for wm 6.x
2, To activate your map, you must use keygen; for example, search for "EasyActivator" or "Easyusetools".

Re: HTC HD Mini (WMo 6.5.3) and Tom Tom Advanced Lane Guidance

Thanks for the reply, I have the navigator app running I still can't get the map they sent me to activate. Mind you it uses their online activation so by that fact it might be blocked as the HD mini is not a supported device so they probably assume it's an illegal copy.

Did read about someone who badgered the TomTom support into activating his map, like me he had a legal copy and managed to get the Navigator 7 running on the phone. His argument was that he had purchased it and they should activate the map he had bought from them. Can't remember where I read it (so many sites I've looked at the try and get this running) but it wasn't a UK one so might not work for me.

It is frustrating that they don't support the HD mini, I used an earlier HTC with WM on it for a few years and bought this phone with the main intention of running TomTom. Their support team could not tell me when the HD mini would be tested or even if it was on the list to be tested. In the end with a company upgrade thrust on me I had to take the chance. With still no support confirmation I bought Navigator 7 last month.

Looks like I'll have to activate this map using step 4 you listed above, would you mind sending the XXXX parts in a PM..?

I have downloaded a few keygen files but either they are not for this phone or come with no instructions or instructions that refer to files that I don't have in this version I've bought.

Re: HTC HD Mini (WMo 6.5.3) and Tom Tom Advanced Lane Guidance

I have got TomTom v7 working on the HD mini.

As this was a purchased copy I contacted TomTom support and they manually activated the map, I loaded their activation file and all working.

I have noticed a little lag, not by much, but if I compare to an older phone running TomTom my new version seems to be 10 to 20 meters behind....?

Is this the GPS lag that others have pointed out, is there a latest patch to correct this...?

Not tried the home application yet either.

Wow! Has HTC still NOT fix the GPS lag issue for many devices for years?

People, myself included, complaint about it since I had a Touch PRO in 2008. I tried so many ROMs (WM 6.1-6.5), tricks posted on xda-developers, and even with many GPS Bluetooth receivers, none of them solve the issue! One of my friend has HTC Imagio with the same GPS lag. You find the lag in any (at least 3 that I tried) GPS apps e.g tomtom, garmin, and iGO, FYI.

I used to have a HTC TOuch Pro 2 and the lag was annoying. There will not be a patch but there are probably some registry tweeks you can do to correct. I got the Touch Pro 2 bearable by some posts on Android Forums & Windows Phone Discussion @ xda-developers but you will need some tools to get into the registry on your phone.
