Navcores 9.061 & 9.170 for 32Mb ONE models [by mark cat]

Hi Guys

As i have said , i want to upgrade my Tomtom One 3rd Edition (4N01.001) with 512 MB and 32 MB RAM.

At the moment i have updated it with Tomtom home and the current specs are as follows:

Bootloader 5.5001

Map UK & ROI v705.1485

Very cheekily , i want to take advantage of people who might have upgraded their 3rd Editions before and save myself a bit of thinking and tinkering!!

Basically , without soldering a new SD Card and staying ,if possible , with the same Navcore , I want to have maps for both GB & Spain.

If i have to change the navcore , Would i be able to have alg & Iq routes for both Spain and UK without changing the Sd card?

Many thanks for this worked perfectly only thing was I forgot to add zip file for UK , got there in the end though my TomTom one ver 3 rooms smooth

I updated my TomTom one v3 from 8.562 to 9.170.
I tried going back to the previous version 8.562 from backup and the TomTom wont turn on.
Once you install this is it not possible to go back?

Of course it's possible. Do a hard reset by holding down the power button for 20 seconds. Some models have a pinhole reset key. Wipe the TomTom clean and start over.

It woirked the first time but when I switch it back on just black screen.

I have a ONE XL (v9). From Home it shows up as XL 30 series. (this is a 1GB XL with Canada and US map)

I downloaded 9.170SE by mark and I just copied the files over and overwritten the existing files on my XL. I booted up the unit and it works. So I removed the current map data on my XL and copy over the 900.4610 Canada_and_USA to the unit and patched it. I turned on the unit and it says (yellow text on red background) "You cannot use this map on this device:USA_Canada-672"

So I tried to downgrade my unit to 8.562SE. Same thing happened.

Can someone give me a pointer?

There is no meta yet for the USA_and_Canada_900_4610 map, so no matter what you do, will not be able to activate it. Look in the Map Thread Finder:

Map Thread Finder - Tomtom v900 Maps

If it says "no meta yet" next to a map thread link, then choose a different map which has meta available.

So basically I am out of luck because all the Canada map don't have meta yet? I guess I should go for older maps like the 890?

They have v900 maps for USA_CANADA_MEXICO, but it's 1.5GB. My ONE XL is only 1GB internal memory. Is it possible to strip Mexico off that map?

Correct. You'd have to go back to v890 maps to find one for Canada that fits in your 1GB device. The only one with available meta is USA_and_Canada_890_4235:

And no, you cannot "strip" a map to make it smaller.
