As I don't use any of OS mentioned above (I know the're better for some but I'm "old, fat and lazy") do the tools need any further instructions?

If you don't know what Device ID is you can find it in /ttgo.bif at the line "DeviceUniqueID=" (easy to copy and paste) or inside Version menu in navigation mode.
