Hi, sorry if this has been asked before:
If I get a standard Tomtom 7100, the non-truck model, is it a case of putting the truck Navcore and map on it in order to convert it to the truck type?
Also, am I right in assuming that if I do this, it will recognise me as a truck not a car and set my average speed accordingly? Being able to set it manually would also be a plus.
Any help is appreciated
Hi, thanks for the responses, much appreciated.
No, what I was asking about regarding the speed limits was if I could set my average speed so it calculates my arrival time/remaining time accordingly. I'm led to believe from a bit of reading around that the truck navcore does allow that.
Now then, since I can't use the 7100, and the 720/730/930 etc are all out of stock on Amazon (I have £200 worth of gift voucher to use up so would rather get it there if possible) - is there another model that isn't v10? Would the XL Routes IQ edition (this one) work with any of the truck navcores/maps?
Again, any advice is appreciated
any model that has a card-slot
i use a GO710 for many years
allmost all models are non-v10 , since v10 is a brand new system
or , any other than listed here

And it MUST have an SD slot? The XL IQR which I like the look of isn't on that v10 list but as far as I can tell there's no SD slot - can it be done via USB alone?
I ve seen couple of 720 & 730's on amazon under USD 100 - so check again ...

No support over PM - check Tomtom Tutorials Section and ask within forums.
Biggest lie in the inernet: I searched but did not find.
in addition to the above ;
its possible to do it via USB , but ...........
the XL IQR has not enough disk space inside
other than that , its easier , safer and better with a removable card
