Hi Guys i have a new 5150 and was wondering if there is a way to interact directly with the internal storage area so i can copy maps or other stuff over without using the MyTomTom app
TomTom Tutorials & FAQ
TomTom GO 730, Navcore 9.051c, 64Mb RAM, Australia 910.4892, Bootloader: 5.5250
TomTom ONE v1, Navcore 9.170SE, 32Mb RAM, Australia 910.4892, Bootloader: 5.5244
Ah well I guess I will be a vanilla user from now on :-(
Thanks for answering Lemonfish
Lemonfish is right unfortunately
nope....cant be done & prob NEVER WILL BE !
As with the GO1000 (my tt) the via's ect & the new 5150 (to mention just a few)........ these tt's arnt possible to hmmmmmm ?? correct terminology ?? Ahhgggg yes !! 'UPDATE' CHEEPLY
Understanding 'WHY' tho im sure ud like to know ??
All tt's prior to the via's & go1000 models stored all their data (navcores, maps, POI's ect ect ect) on a 'FAT32' harddrive/file storage system ! just like 99% of Laptops/PC's ect..
making the FILE SYSTEM 'accessible' & hence 'manipulatable' (spell check lol) via a standard laptop/PC ! Hey presto....cheap/free updates
When the Via's & GO1000 ect range came in to the market place the file storage system/harddrive was no longer a 'FAT32' system it became a 'LINUX' file storage system/harddrive which made it IMPOSSIBLE to manipulate any files via our FAT32 home computers/laptops
Even with a 'LINUX' operated laptop (which i personally own)(still trying to find a way lol) it still CANT BE DONE !
Im sure a way will come in the future & hopefully i'll at least contribute to that day ?
Keep Safe All
