I'm sick of being asked by other hgv drivers at work about tt truck and if it will work on their navs! My quick question is...... will it work on any tt that has an sd card slot? and also does the "Ram" and screen resolution make a difference or will it still work regardless of amount of "Ram" or screen size??
Hi maybe a bit late for the reply but I only joint the forum today, yes is posible to run HGV maps on tomtom with SD card and with out one longest you have around 4gb internal space if you don't have sd slot, I did write instruction how to do it on trucknet UK forum and has been tested on few tt like the old go300 and the newer version og go520 ect.
Generally, any TT device with 64 MB RAM or more and enough storage capacity for TRUCK map (4 GB) should work almost "out of the box". However, one may find that some devices may suffer from loosing some functions (like TTS, BT, unexpected reset, etc.).
Most commonly used truck NC today is 8.398 and it is reported working on wide range of units with 64 MB RAM - some glitches appeared on x50 models have been solved out.
Thanks to DSA Tool it is now possible to run truck NC on models with (only) 32 MB RAM. To achieve this, MB (memory boost) option must be selected during NC v8 patching process.
Well it looks like that I have been away for to long LOL, never seen this DSA tool looks some one done good work, need to play with this and see how it work, on other side truck maps are not bullet proof, my mate got hes tomtom truck version that cost him over £600 and last week could find route for HGV from Luton to Sittingbourne a bit strange wanted to direct him around london and not dartford crossing and before you ask he did click that don't want to avoid toll road, so there may be some problems with truck maps
