the SD files are probably because they are carminat 2010 version
They use to have a bunch of SD to give up with the cars...Did you open de seals when you received the SD, or was it already opened?
what map version did the original SD have?

The original map is Italia.855.2938, the Laguna was available on december 2010. But the seal wasn't opened.

I followed exactly the first post, I tried several patcher as advised... no success !.

It' seems that Tomtom put a new protection on the new navcore 9.842

After SD card insertion (step #11) I always have "map error", "you can't use this map on this device")

The new loopdir is created, but the carminat don't boot on the SD card it is sure, because to make the difference between internal flah and SD card I replaced the splashscreen by a new one in SD card.

After insertion on carminat, I see on the SD card that the carminat deleted the "ttsystem" file but not the PNDNavigator.
I checked the new loopdir and in the ttgo.bif it's always mentioned that it is the 9.842 navcore and not the 8.842 that i put on SD card.

So, if someone here make a success with the new Carminat 9.842 (LIVE) please post here how to do.

have you tried this:

Car stoped and close
open car
DO NOT START the car´s engine.
SD orginal in the carminat.
Push radio ON
Wait until carminat is started with NO error.
Turn radio off
extract SD
insert patched SD
turn radio on
it should work know. I have reports from other 9.842 users that are working fine with a patched 8.842 SD

Yes sure, that it is exactly what I did yesterday. and got error message.

The ttsystem file is still on SD card after ? (for user you talk about)

because mine not. as I said, the system never boot on SD, and ttsystem was deleted.

Hi!

Whenever I update my 'hacked' SD card with new MapShare data my Home position and all my Favorites gets wiped from my Carminat TomTom, everything else works just fine!

Can anyone explain why and how I can prevent this?

Safe from the map folder file mapsettings.cfg before you update.
Put it back after mapupdate has finished.
But in the latest version of TTHome, there is also an online possibility to save your favorites.

mapsettings is not inside the map folder. Itś located in the map folder INSIDE the loopdir file

Your problem resides in a incorrect way to extract the SD, therefore the loopdir file is not saved, and thatś way you loose.

Make changes at home, pois etc...click on extract SD, once it sais you can extract the SD properly. Turn of radio. Update SD. Go back to car. Put SD and turn on radio.
