    Re: Navteq Supercode CD's 2011-2012

Please accept my apologies for posting on this thread but as I am new today I was not able to create a new thread

I am having trouble understand exactly what I should do to create a new map disc.

I have an MS 4400 and live in the UK

I have downloaded the 4 files through rapid share for the UK

I then burnt the 4 files to a CD

I have visited the Teleatlas site to obtain an unlock code using the uk -ireland 2009-2010 which I understand can be used with any version

When I insert the CD and go to enter the code it says I need to insert a map cd, so I'm guessing I'm either missing something on the disc or I've not burnt it correctly. I've checked the CD and the 4 files are there.

I also tried to insert the code with the original CD which is europe 2006-2007 (only UK Ireland Netherlands etc but it says its not compatible with the code.

I wonder if you could point me in the right direction, I have searched the site but can't find any guidance notes

I'm sorry if I have missed the obvious as I say this is my first attempt to obtain the updated maps

    thanks

    Gizzypop

    Re: Navteq Supercode CD's 2011-2012

You completely miss all that is necessary for a successfull burn
The 4 parts you downloaded form a socalled multipart archive that requires extraction first
Open Part 1 in Winrar or similar program and start extracting
You will then end up wilth a set of files called ISO which only means it is a digital foorprint of the cd inside
Run a rprogram such as Imgburn, slect write image to cd, open file menu and select the file you have just obtained by extracting.
Then select a writing speed and burn

If you use your unit earlier to navigate you are fine. otherwise you need an original C/IQ cd to initiate the Classic C/IQ activation
Upon insertion of the completed cd you select the C/IQ mnenu, code entry and you can now enter the 16 digit code

    Re: Navteq Supercode CD's 2011-2012

    Hi Gazo

thanks for your help, I'm getting there slowly. I've download WinRAR and extracted the archive part 1 but I didn't get any ISO files (I'm assuming thats a file extention)

    I've got 3 files
    Great Britain & Ireland.ccd
    Great Britian & Ireland.img
    Great Britain & Ireland.sub

I guess I didn't rextract it correctly I used the wizard in WinRAR, or are these the files I need to burn using IMGburn, do I also need to unpack parts 2-4.

I have used my unit for navigation many times before without any problems it just been 2006 its a bit out of date now

    thanks again for your help

    @caroline
Since your last update was 2006 it is also necessary to enter a Supercode into your unit.

    Re: Navteq Supercode CD's 2011-2012

    Hi Gazo

I used IMGburn to copy the files last night as you suggested and it even identified the files it could copy so I decided there was nothing to loose by giving it a go, popped it in this morning with the code and it worked a treat, thanks for your help.

Just one more question if I may then I promise to go away, for a while anyway!

I don't seem to be able to enter a full post code only the first 5 digits, is this a limitation of my unit (MS 4400) its not something I've ever been able to do. I read on another thread about a different model that there was something in travel info, UK postal code finder, so I checked that this morning just to see if I needed to switch anything on but that was ticked.

Is this something I'm just going to have to work with, its a shame as this is the only really annoying thing about the unit now we have a new map. We often travel to showgrounds where we only have a post code (no house number, sometimes no street either) and if we could put in the full post code it would make life easier.

Thanks for your help your site has already save me a fortune

    Caroline

    Re: Navteq Supercode CD's 2011-2012

I burned the CD Italy with the program ImgBurn at the minimum speed but when I insert it into the stereo does not find the maps. Should I set the stereo or something from the menu that means that the copy failed?

If possible I would like to ask some questions:
which program should I use? ImgBurn or CloneCD? Verbatim media is good?

Specific to my stereo MP3 VDO Dayton MS 4150 RS is updated. If someone has the same stereo and we would be grateful if they could give me some advice.

Thanks in advance to all and sorry for the English translation because I'm using google;-)
