all the pc5400/5500/5600/5700 both pro and non-pro versions utilise exactly the SAME menu text files. so if you can read between the lines you know what you need to do to enable the disabled languages. if you are doubt the above statement check all the usw_modules files with navtweak
lol hell only saw your post today :/

anyway, first of all thx for taking your time to reply me
and if i understood you correctely the PC 5600/5700 have portuguese voice, so what i need to do is get a 5600 DVD, extract the voice files from it and add it to the 5500 DVD on the correct folder and all of this using a program called navtweak

    is this correct ?

Hell, taking this from another topic
i copied the file voice.lst and p1_f.csf from V_3\Voices\0550 to V_3\Voices\0531 and burned it on a cd
went to the gps, change language, load the CD, it asked me to choose which language i want to replace, choose the language i want and then it did it's thing for 20s or so
after the gps rebooted the interface language was in portuguese, but the voice was still in english
so i guess it's not as straigh forward as i did

    any ideas ?

    thx \o

basically you did the right thing. did you match the cd label and the version number in the voices.lst file with the original (NAV_SW and 0531 respectively) one?

Re: VDODayton Supercode DVD Navteq 2011-212

the problem is that it seems the voice files in the 0550 folder have 'corrupted' headers (at least the extra files over the 0531) which the pc5600/5700 simply ignores but the the pc5400/pc5500 follows and it loads the english voice (GB) since the header refers to that language. I guess it is not coincidence, but I am biased against the sales people. I will provide you with the proper image.

he talked about dvd maps for pc5700, while pc5400 is cd based, but more of the problem is that he got europe maps which is barely useful down under.
