So many things about rns 510 but nothing about ours.
The RNS315 must be updated with an SD Card to install the data to internal flash memory
The card itself cannot be copied, just like all the other systems that use this technique, and once the card has been used to update the unit, it will be coded so that it cannot be used again in any other unit
The new maps should have been published a long time ago since the units are delivered with the first edition only of the maps dated 2009/2010!

Volkswagen has just published the new SD Card V2 for the RNS315, Seat Media System 2.1 and 2.2 and Skoda Amundsen+
The bad news is:
The card cannot be read in a PC with any Windows Version
It cannot be read in any Mac
It cannot be read in a Linux Redhat PC
It is only Western Europe with the same coverage as the RNS510 DVD's
The SD Card is not even recognized when inserted into the PC Card reader slot!
After the card has been used for updating the flash memory it is coded and rendered useless for any other system
Retail Price for this card is Euro 199

In order to achieve data from the card, try to install QNX -Neutrino OS on some spare disk ,or partition.Nowadays many embedded systems are using the QNX neutrino microkernel and photon GUI,for example some models of LG in kia or hyundai, infotainments equipped in american cars...The installable CD or SDK (momentics) can be downloaded form homepage of the software developer.

I think this is what you are looking for > QNX Download
Ok al good comments, but now the very important question, who has managed to copy data from these cards and is able to host the data and is willing to share it.
coold be done for a fee, but......
A good many "specialists" I have consulted admit Blapunkt may have found another genial protection scheme And even if you found a way to read the card, copying is something else
