I've downloaded it and it work just fine on my RNS510.
I've just one question. Are this really 2012Q1 navteq maps?
I'm asking because in this VW RNS510 Western Europe V.9 (7920) there is an old street name on my work place and on the original VW RNS510 Western Europe V.6 that came with my 2010 car it has the correct street name.
Why cloud it be? A newer map having old street names in Portugal?
How can i see the map version and firmware version on my RNS510?

OK so Ive an RNS510 (C)
HW: H11
SW-Version: 3810
Map Version HDD: 7674 (West Europe)
With a brand new lazer/drive fitted;

Here's what i do:

1) I restart the system using the 3 buttons

2) Once the system has fully rebooted I insert the V9 maps DVD

3) I press "continue" at the first screen and am presented with "Please Wait".


"Please Wait" then remains their indefinitely, I've tried waiting as long as 4 hours.
If i simply Restart the system, it will take a couple min before working as normal, only now the maps appear to run from DVD, if i enter the settings menu i can see "Map Versions DVD 7920", and all my maps are up to date, up until i remove the DVD, then i revert back to my HDD Maps 7674.

How do i install to my HDD????

I have tried 3 different DVD's, including 2 purchased V9 DVD's.
I have removed all music from my HDD to ensure that HDD space wasn't the issue.

Obviously if I continue to run from DVD it will wear my drive out, prevent me from accessing POI's from DVD and also stop me from using the drive for any other media.

As an added intensive, I will offer £10 to anyone who can actually provide me with the answer to solve my problem

Use Josis Map Partiton Format CD or hdd format CD and install the the map again.
It will work 100% if your hdd isn't corrupt

Ive never heard of this, will it wipe my firmware?

As i wrote, the Map partition format cd formats the map partition only, the HDD format cd formats the whole harddisk. This has nothing to do with your firmware. Firmware ist flashed in Nand. The only problem ist you can't after fomratting the HDD never change the language until you install a new or the same fimrware, because the Speechfiles are saved in map partition.

I am sure this has been discussed in this thread before and in couple of other threads on some other websites as well but I thought I will mention it again as I have successfully resolved the issue and it might help somebody.
All the people who are having trouble not being able to see POIs on the map screen after installing the version 7920. Firmware 4020 onwards are mostly affected by this. The solution is to install map version 7918 and then import speed cameras using an SD card. I have extracted speed and traffic cameras from 7920 and have made a .db3 file which you will need to save on to your SD card and then import by going to SETUP - Navigation - Personal POIs. The .db3 file should be saved in to the PersonalPOI folder on your SD card. This PersonalPOI should be in the root of SD card.

i have a RNS 510 C version.
i just updated the firmware to 3810
i want to instal map version V9 7920 with speedcams
burned a verbatim DVD+R DL at 2.4x speed (slowest) with nero 12
when i insert the dvd it says dvd error
also tried a dvd+R DL from philips but didn't worked

If you have frimware 3810 on C-Version, why do you not install 7918 and use the poi-function from sd-card? And why do you not upgrade to version 3980 or 4120(if you can recode the rns)?
