i must disagree with you
i have made little experiment dvd ver 7.0 for versions below 27xx is working corect but no poi,so i made sustom dvd from 7.0 and pois from 7.1 and now i have no error .
so final answer is that map cd is not ok not unit soft.hope this explanation help.

All map versions are working correctly up to SW 2720
Problems only commenced when upgraded to 38xx both with V7 and V7.1 maps

i have used it before but never had this problem. then, cause i made a road trip to europe and wanted cam alerts, i downgraded to sw 2760. when i came back, i tried again 3890 and now i get the same message: "no route recommendation for this Destination".
the only different thing i did this time is that from sw2760 i upgraded dirrectly to 3890, opposingly to the time before that i followed the sequence 2760-3800-3810-3890. Is it possible that this message occured because of that?

Anything is possible with beta firmware on a unit not designed to run it
I have already witnessed a few units that were bricked beyond repair!

But please proceed with you folly actions! Not everyone can afford to brick a unit and buy a new one
I am sure the development sections of various manufacturers are learning a lot from scanning newsgroups and forums

my friend you dont need anything to repair
just combine map from dvd ver 7,0 and poi from 7,1 this combination works ok for me
and with new poi inspector i have insert all speed cams
quick and easy
even you can do this install dvd ver 7.0 now you will not have poi s
rename poi.db3 from dvd ver 7.1 to personalpoi.db3 insert on sd card where you have prevous folder made with name personalpoi
insert sd in unit and imoprt poi

i thought that map 7.0 and 7.1 are exactly the same in content (2009/q4), with the addition of new poi format in edb file. isn't that the case? and gazo, certainly i do not want to ruin my unit, but you know, i try to get the best that it can offer. Anyway, i paid a lot of money for it and do want to have some basic features that other gps system provide so many years now. i beleive that the factory should try a lot harder!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
