Does anybody know if Volvo maps 2012 are code-encrypted?
I'm longing for'em, but I'd be very sad if they were locked, as per VW ones!!!

Last year they were released in mid-July.
I know that someone has recently received the Mapcare code for 2012...

I've heard from some Volvo users that Volvo is sending out 2012 discs to anyone who bought Mapcare with them.

That communication is correct.
I am waiting for my 2nd Free Update from them but I wish they would modify the hardware so you can input the co-ordinates in other formats, as 'D-M-S' is the only one that can be used while TomTom lets you choose any of 3 types!

SW update available at Volvo dealers'.
Ask for Sensus update.
At the first moment they'll probably tell you they're not aware about it, but if you insist, they'll do it.
The new SW release allows you importing POIs, icons included.

What is that software update for? Only for Satnav or is it for the car in general?
Will you need the SW update to update the Satnav to 2012?
